Job Summary
Residential Counselors to manage day-to-day operations at our Permanent Supportive Housing Projects. Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily needs, coordinating with clinical staff, engaging residents through on-site activities and therapeutic support groups, managing building operations in the absence of other staff, maintaining safety and security, intervening in crises, documenting significant events in daily logs, assisting with room turnovers, leasing and orientation of new residents, rent collection and facilities inspections, responding to resident complaints, and collaborating with clinical and maintenance staff. Preferred qualifications include a BA degree in social or behavioral science and residential property management experience. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse populations experiencing homelessness and behavioral health challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of homelessness and various characteristics of homeless adult population.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behaviors.
- Subscription to philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs and of consideration and respect for clients.
