Job Summary
As a Relief Residential Counselor, you will effectively support the development and growth of young adults facing emotional challenges, provide humane treatment, implement intervention techniques, and assist students with daily program schedules, including meals and recreation. The role requires clear communication skills, organizational abilities, and prior experience in mental health programs. You must meet age and educational requirements, pass background checks, and be available for flexible shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- High School Diploma required
- Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
- Ability to independently plan and organize one's own schedule and activities
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination
- Ability to be certified in BCC
- Valid driver's license in state of residency
- Ability to be certified in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid
- Eligibility for certification in Medication Administration for DCF and/or DDS
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in human services, psychology, social work, or sociology preferred
- Mental health program experience with adolescents preferred
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft computer systems and internet preferred

- DCF background check
- Availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
