Job Summary
Residential Counselor provides direct services to clients to promote participation in appropriate community activities and supports development of independent living skills; participates in assessing rehabilitation needs and in developing, implementing and monitoring individual rehabilitation plans; may provide crisis services, health teaching, medication monitoring, and basic health education; documents service delivery and assists with discharge planning and follow-up as needed; requires driving/transporting clients and maintaining safe living environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- at least two years of experience working in a mental health residential setting and/or social service related field
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or RN licensure with at least 1 year experience providing rehabilitative services or working with persons with chronic mental illness is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast healthcare environment
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Power-point, Excel, Word etc.)
- Bilingual in any language a plus
