Job Summary
Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions under supervision while documenting patient care, treatment, and incidents. Perform initial and follow-up assessments, prepare individual treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention as needed. Modify problem behaviors, coordinate referrals to other programs, and act as a liaison between referral sources, insurance carriers, and patient families. Plan aftercare and ensure patient safety is a top priority while resolving complaints. Work at least one weekend day in 10-hour day or evening shifts at Sierra Tucson's residential treatment center for substance use and behavioral disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social or health services field
- Two or more years' experience in counseling field
- Licensure or certification for counseling
- CPR certification
- De-escalation/restraint certification
- First aid
- Complete or ongoing education and training as required by the state
Desired Qualifications
- Four or more years' experience in the counseling field
- Master's degree in social or health services field
- One or more years of professional work experience
