Job Summary
Provide direct support, counseling, and advocacy to adults in a supervised residential setting while assisting residents in developing independent living, communication, and community integration skills. Document client progress, facilitate recreational and educational activities, and connect individuals to community resources and support services. Offer transportation to appointments and promote a safe, recovery-oriented environment through collaboration with the treatment team and crisis intervention as needed. Weekend availability is typically required for this part-time role with competitive wages and flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four (4) years of related work experience, volunteer experience, caregiving experience, human services experience, or relevant life experience
- Knowledge of community resources and support agencies
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with a driving record that meets agency standards
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, human services, residential treatment, group homes, or psychiatric rehabilitation settings
- Experience as a Residential Counselor, Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), Mental Health Technician, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Case Aide
- Experience supporting individuals living with mental illness or co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care practices
- Bilingual English/Spanish
