Residential Counselor (Overnight Awake)-Full Time

Job Summary
Provide direct care for youth in a 24-hour residential shelter and emergency youth services setting, including supervision, life-skills coaching, meal prep, and crisis intervention. Deliver individual, family, and group services, manage activities and educational progress, coordinate with families and external services, ensure food, shelter, medical services, and basic needs are met, and maintain documentation. Must be able to work flexible schedules including overnights, weekends, holidays; ability to obtain CPR/First Aid; undergo drug screening and background checks; comply with OSHA/bloodborne pathogen protocols; transportation may be required; starts with 16 hours of on-the-job training and ongoing responsibilities such as crisis intervention and community referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Associates (2) year college/university degree in human services or related field or higher
- One year of experience in counseling or working with youth
- Current North Carolina Drivers license with evidence of good driving record.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification OR ability to obtain
- A valid driver’s license and/or government-issued ID is required.
- Drug screen, national/state criminal record, NC Health Care AND Sex Offender Registry, and NC DSS Responsible Individual List Checks REQUIRED.
