Job Summary
Residential Counselors assist adults in BHN residential programs to develop skills for recovery and wellness, including helping residents gain independence, developing life skills (cooking, cleaning, budgeting, social skills, symptom/medication knowledge), and creating/discussing plans for work/school/volunteering and community connections; role involves individual and group counseling, developing treatment and discharge plans.
Required Qualifications
- AA degree preferred
- One (1) year of experience working with mentally ill consumers in a residential setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI)
- Food Handler’s
- First Aid cards within 14-days of hire
- Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered (ACCR) credential must be applied for within thirty (30) days of hire.
