Job Summary
Provide one-to-one support and supervision to up to six adolescents in residential treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues. Establish positive, boundary-appropriate relationships while maintaining vigilance over client behavior, activities, and safety. Facilitate psycho-education groups, recreational activities, and therapeutic programs including hikes, equine therapy, and surf therapy. Perform crisis management interventions as necessary and oversee meal times while assisting clients with life skills such as laundry and bed-making. Maintain accurate documentation of all shift activities and demonstrate model behaviors within a therapeutic community. All schedules require at least one weekend shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 21 years old
- Willingness to work at least one weekend shift
- Ability to be patient
- Ability to be resilient
- Ability to be a reliable team player
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
- Experience working with teens
- Experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting
