Residential Counselor - Full Time/Part Time

Provide one-to-one support and supervision to up to six adolescents in residential treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues. Establish positive, nurturing relationships within professional boundaries while maintaining vigilance over client behavior, activities, and safety. Facilitate psycho-education groups, recreational activities, and therapeutic interventions including hikes, equine therapy, and surf therapy. Oversee meal times, assist clients with life skills such as laundry and bed-making, and perform crisis management as necessary. Maintain accurate documentation of all shift activities and demonstrate model behaviors in accordance with center policies. All schedules require at least one weekend shift; candidates must be patient, resilient, and willing to adjust to the ever-changing nature of residential treatment.
