Job Summary
Residential Counselor (Teacher/Counselor) in South Attleboro, MA for adults with ID/DD in a nonprofit residential program. Responsibilities include providing direct care (assistance with showering, toileting, grooming, meals), promoting health through routine and emergency care, implementing and developing ISP goals, conducting education training, counseling, and skill-building across functional academics, domestic skills, health and personal hygiene, social and leisure skills, and money management. Develop and present annual ISPs and semi-annual assessments in collaboration with residential staff; provide transportation; maintain confidential files and participate in case management; communicate with families, guardians, and funding sources to ensure continuity of programming. Requirements: experience with ID/DD; BA or Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience or HS diploma with 5 years of relevant experience; valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks; MAP certification preferred; strong verbal and written communication; equal opportunity employer. Required Qualifications
- Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD
- BA OR Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant exp. OR HS Diploma and 5 years of relevant experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
- MAP certification is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
