Job Summary
Residential Counselor in Lifeworks’ residential program for adults with ID/DD. Responsibilities include providing hands-on direct care (assistance with showering, toileting, meal-time), promoting health, ensuring safe and secure living environments, delivering education, training, and counseling to help ISP goals in areas such as functional academics, domestic skills, health/personal hygiene, social and leisure skills, communication, mobility, self-esteem, and money management. Develop, write and present annual ISPs and semi-annual assessments with residential staff, provide transportation as needed, and maintain confidential case files. Strong collaboration with family, guardians, advocates, and other staff; requires relevant experience and driving license. Equal Opportunity Employer with comprehensive benefits and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD
- A Bachelor's degree or an associate degree in a related field with two years of experience, or HS diploma and five years of related work experience in Human Services.
- Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
- Valid Driver's License required
- Valid MAP certification is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
