Job Summary
Residential Coordinators are responsible for providing support to residents in an emergency shelter, managing client documentation, conducting intake and exit assessments, delivering crisis intervention and safety planning, deescalating crises, advocating with other agencies, and coordinating with the victim advocacy team on benefits and housing applications. They perform residency verifications, facilitate weekly house meetings and skill-building workshops, and transport clients as needed, while ensuring facility safety, health, and sanitation standards and contributing to trauma-informed, strengths-based service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, skill, and experience working in human services, social work, or criminal justice
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, social work, criminal justice, or related field (preferred)
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) required; candidates must complete within 90 days of employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Experience, ability, and willingness to work as a team with diversified staff
- Ability to implement a strengths-based approach to providing trauma-informed services
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, social work, criminal justice, or related field (preferred)
- Previous shelter, family violence or sexual assault experience (preferred)
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) required; candidates must complete within 90 days of employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation with up-to-date insurance
