Job Summary
Support individuals in various home settings to promote independence, foster learning and community connection, and assist with personal care, emotional support, and medical needs. Follow individualized care plans, build new routines based on personal preferences, and advocate for people's rights, choices, and inclusion. Work Saturday through Monday (9 am–1 pm, 3 pm–9 pm) with possible statutory holiday coverage. Requires Class 5 driver's license, current First Aid/CPR, and BCGEU union membership. Join a non-profit team dedicated to helping children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities thrive in vibrant communities.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Human Services, Community Support, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities and behavior challenges
- Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Class 4 preferred
- personal vehicle required
- Current First Aid/CPR, Mandt, and Food Safe certifications
- Strong communication skills
