Job Summary
Provide a therapeutic environment for youth in the CARES Center program through relational supervision and teaching coping, communication, and pro-social skills. Actively engage clients to prevent and de-escalate out-of-control behavior while implementing consequences and assigning restorative tasks. Transport clients as needed and respond to emergencies using safe physical interventions per MAB curriculum, followed by debriefs. Document incidents, precautions, and shift reports in electronic medical records, and participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training. Report facility concerns to supervisors and maintain a safe environment for all clients. Requires high school diploma or degree with one year of residential experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of residential, or related mental health treatment experience
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree
- at least twenty-one years old
- valid driver's license
- ability to be covered by agency insurance provider
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- ability to communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner
- Must have the physical ability to assist in the physical or therapeutic hold of youth when required
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies and physically assist or support youth and/or staff
