Job Summary
Conduct residential care and educational support for children and young adults with learning disabilities and autism at Linn Moor Campus. Deliver 1:1 assistance across care and education settings to support physical, psychological, and emotional development while maintaining relationships with the wider community. Work flexibly under the direction of teachers to follow core and specialized approaches, ensuring a child-centered, nurturing environment that aligns with Scottish educational policy and GIRFEC principles. Manage a 4-week rolling rota including early, late, and weekend shifts with transport provided to and from Aberdeen city centre.
Required Qualifications
- SCQF Level 7 in Social Services and Healthcare
- HNC in Social Care
- Level 9 Residential Childcare Qualification
- Valid driver's license
- PVG Scheme clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience of working with children and/or young adults with autism / learning difficulties
- Ability to engage/relate to them through effective communication skills
- Ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour
- Willingness to work towards the SCQF Level 7, HNC, or Level 9 Residential Childcare Qualification
- Knowledge of current Scottish educational policy frameworks including the Curriculum for Excellence
- Knowledge of How Good is my School
- Knowledge of specific documentation for ASN schools
- Understanding and promotion of the principals of GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child)
- Ability to work flexibly in both care and education settings
