Job Summary
Provide assistance to residents in the Assisted Living Program with activities of daily living, including medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, and escort services. Follow the schedule of resident needs set by the supervisor and document daily logs of assistance provided. Offer emotional and social support while respecting and encouraging resident independence, dignity, and confidentiality. Inform the supervisor immediately of any resident issues or concerns. Maintain a positive demeanor toward residents and co-workers while working safely as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- at least one year of experience working in senior care
- Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisor and other employees, and respond and communicate to emergency situations
- basic computer skills
- ability to work as a part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently
- ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high stress situations
- ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward the residents and your co-workers
