Job Summary
Conduct pastoral care for 80 boarders aged 9-18, supporting their welfare and development in the boarding house environment. Lead extracurricular programmes and collaborate with the Head of Boarding to manage the boarding team. Maintain safeguarding protocols through enhanced pre-employment clearance, including criminal background checks and reference verification. Submit a CV and application letter detailing suitability for the role, including three professional referees.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' working in a school environment
- Evidence of significant experience working successfully with young people
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
- Evidence of recent, relevant professional development in a related area
- Detailed and enhanced pre-employment clearance including identity checks, criminal background checks, qualification checks, employment checks, and satisfactory reference checks
Desired Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in a relevant subject area
- Minimum of 3 years' working in a school environment (preferred)
- Teaching experience
- Experience working with young people, ideally across the Primary-Secondary age ranges
- Excellent pastoral instincts
- Significant experience of pastoral care, preferably in a boarding environment
- Excellent understanding of what makes a successful boarding school
- Passion for working with children
- Commitment to educating and developing the whole child
- Energy and enthusiasm to contribute to a wide range of extra-curricular programmes
