Job Summary
Assist residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and daily chores while supporting adherence to individual service plans. Administer medications, supervise meal preparation, and transport residents to medical appointments and social outings in a 12-15 passenger van. Document care progress daily, report discrepancies to the Registered Nurse, and maintain common area cleanliness. Eat with residents during mealtimes and attend all required in-service trainings. Requires valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and First Aid, CPR, and medication administration certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Two years' direct service with special needs population
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care facility
- CNA certification
- EMT certification
- Successfully pass a reading, writing, and English comprehension test
- Basic knowledge of residential home operations
- Ability to recognize and respond to Universal Safety signs
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to comprehend directions regarding work to be performed and safety guidelines to be followed
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information
- Valid California driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Evidence of state-mandated car insurance
- Insurable driving record
- Clean driving record
- Ability to implement NCI, First Aid, and CPR
- Ability to move and transfer a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to assist with transferring a resident to and from wheelchair (pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs. with assistance)
- Ability to safely operate a 12-15-passenger van
- Ability to implement NCI
