Job Summary
Residential Area Director oversees day-to-day operations of assigned group homes, ensuring services align with each Individual Service Plan (ISP) and DBHDD/Medicaid standards. Responsibilities include program oversight, provider recruitment/training, clinical guidance on behavioral/medical interventions, and incident management. The role involves coordinating audits, CAPs, and quality improvement initiatives, maintaining compliant documentation, and participating in IDT/ISP meetings. Requires 2–3 years of IDD experience with supervisory/coordination exposure, a Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred) in a human-services field, Georgia DDP readiness within 30 days, a valid GA driver’s license, on-call rotation, and strong Microsoft Office skills. Travel within the assigned service area is expected; 24/7 on-call and evening/weekend work are part of the environment. Core competencies emphasize person-centered support, health and safety, advocacy, cultural responsiveness, and community inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Special Education, or related human services field
- 2–3 years of experience in IDD services, with at least one year in a supervisory or coordination role
- Ability to meet Georgia DBHDD requirements as a Developmental Disabilities Professional (DDP) within 30 days of hire
- Understanding of DBHDD regulations, Medicaid Waiver services, and person-centered practices
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Participation in on-call rotation as scheduled
- Excellent written documentation via Microsoft Office suite
