Job Summary
Assist counseling staff in delivering alcohol and drug-related services by maintaining the unit's organization and transporting patients to appointments, support groups, and employment searches. Monitor patients and their activities, accurately documenting shifts while ensuring unit security per CTP policies. Immediately report any child abuse or neglect to the supervisor and area director when applicable. Report all patient infractions, concerns, or problems to the primary counselor. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, CPR/First-Aid certification, and willingness to learn substance misuse dynamics.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Willingness to learn the dynamics of substance misuse, alcohol, and its effects
- Prior experience working in a substance misuse setting or a human services agency
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow directions
- CPR and First-Aid certification
- Valid driver's license and insurability
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to assist with lifting patients
- Must undergo a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana
- Must undergo a comprehensive background check
- Must undergo a TB test
Desired Qualifications
- A Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification
