Job Summary
Residential/Program Aide assists with the client's basic needs in a shelter environment, working with the social services team to monitor and provide basic services. Responsibilities include performing area inspections to enforce shelter rules, monitoring common areas (sitting areas, laundry rooms, cafeteria), tracking locks, distributing locks, linen, and toiletries, removing contraband, storing client property, maintaining case records in both written and CARES databases, completing intake and orientation for new clients, collecting identification and documents, assisting with daily living activities, and filling in for kitchen/maintenance staff when needed. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, and experience with the homeless or special needs populations is desired along with knowledge of DHS rules and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree preferred
- 1-year experience dealing with homeless or special needs population
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols
