Job Summary
Conduct intake and orientation for new clients, including explaining rules, filing IDs, and assigning beds. Perform documented patrols to ensure compliance with site regulations and health and safety. Manage inventory and secure client possessions during hospitalization or incarceration. Execute bed and meal counts, assist with locker searches, and utilize the DHS CARES system to track vacancies and manage rosters. Escort clients to required internal and external meetings while ensuring timely receipt of appointment notices. Document incidents and noteworthy events occurring during your shift. This role supports single adults at HELP USA shelters, one of the nation's largest non-profit homeless services providers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- FDNY F-02 Fireguard Certificate
- Work experience in residential facilities
- Experience and capacity to work with people experiencing homelessness or other disadvantaged people
- Strong relationship and customer service skills
- Computer literacy with Microsoft applications
- Ability to provide night and weekend coverage as needed
