Job Summary
Implement programming on a one-on-one training basis and assist in formulating individual service plans. Make observations, complete progress notes, and monitor medication self-administration to ensure proper dosages. Assist residents with daily living skills including laundry, cooking, communication, and social skills while redirecting behavior as needed. Monitor facility grounds for appropriate conduct and assist in crisis resolution using the least restrictive interventions. Provide transportation for activities of daily living and meet with the Site Supervisor regarding general concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- A car
- A valid Ohio driver's license
- Insurability through the Agency's insurance carrier
- Successful compliance with the background screening and requirements of Ohio Administrative Code 5122-30-31
- Ability to work a flexible, varied schedule
- Ability to work non-judgmentally with individuals whose behavior and belief systems are incongruent with that of society and/or your personal beliefs
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience working with the emotionally impaired or developmentally disabled or similar impairments
- Ability to solve practical problems
- A deeply held belief in CSS's recovery-centered mission
- Ability to develop positive relationships with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse challenged
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment to confidentiality, following rules of HIPAA
