Job Summary
Monitor assigned buildings and students, logging hourly headcounts and activities. Provide a supportive living environment, wake students, and supervise morning routines including breakfast. Lead "Morning Life Skills" curriculum, enforce conduct policies, and serve as a role model. Accompany students off campus or drive them in emergencies. Work 16 hours weekly from Friday 11 pm to Saturday 7 am. Requires previous child-care experience, valid driver's license, and ability to perform physical tasks like climbing stairs and carrying 20 pounds. Girard College prepares academically focused students from underserved communities for advanced education through residential programs.
Required Qualifications
- Previous child-care experience or supervision of children
- A minimum high school diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Computer literate
- Extensive walking, climbing stairs (up to four flights), standing, and sitting for long periods
- Reaching, stretching, bending, stooping and other physical efforts required carrying up to 20 pounds
- Manipulating buttons, zippers, shoelaces, etc.
- Responding quickly in emergencies
- The ability to get in and out of a van or school bus
- The ability to drive a van
- 16 Hours Per Week - Friday and Saturday 11 pm to 7 am
