Job Summary
Creates a comfortable, safe, and supportive atmosphere for residents in student housing; provides daily supervision/assistance in monitoring residents in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, and programmed activities; offers informal counseling related to stress and personal problems; documents student records and maintains logs; conducts evening/overnight bed checks as required; maintains bulletin boards; serves as a channel of communication between staff and students; facilitates life-skills groups (budgeting, renter’s rights, leases, chores) and small group discussions (conflict resolution, peer mediation); participates in ESPs, assesses confidentiality needs, contacts families for consent as warranted, and provides CPR/First Aid as warranted; meets with students monthly, and ensures safety and cleanliness of dorm facilities; attendance at trainings and staff meetings; performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Six month’s experience in education or similar field
- CPR and First Aid certified or certifiable
