Job Summary
Conduct intake processes, manage incoming calls, and oversee room changes and passes. Assist residents with daily schedules and activities while monitoring their detoxification process according to assigned intervals. Perform bag searches, random searches, and collect urine drug screens as directed. Ensure compliance with facility rules and guidelines while maintaining therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality. Handle crisis interventions and prioritize multiple task demands within established time frames. Work in-office and residential environments, standing, walking, and lifting up to 10lbs occasionally 20-50lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Current, valid California Driver License with a good driving record
- Current CPR / 1st Aid certification
- Must be available to work at least one weekend day
- Must fulfill pre-employment conditions: tuberculosis screening (annually thereafter), background check (including criminal and driving record check), drug screening, and reference checks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Skills in time management and crisis intervention
- Basic knowledge of chemical dependency and psychological disorders
- Ability to summarize pertinent clinical information via written documentation
- Must be able to address and prioritize multiple task demands within established time frames
- Must be flexible in work hours in order to meet facility needs
- Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations, such as when verbally or physically confronted
- Must be able to set therapeutic limits and maintain therapeutic distance with clients and maintain therapeutic boundaries with clients during treatment and after discharge
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to use PPE as directed
- Basic computer skills including Word and Outlook
- Recognize faces
- Distinguish colors as necessary
- Hear sufficiently and speak clearly on the telephone, in person, and in the environment, identify and distinguish sounds associated with the workplace
- See adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position
- Frequently stand, walk, and sit
- Frequently reach above, at, or below waist height
- Frequently kneel, bend, stoop, turn, and twist
- Frequently lift and carry up to 10lbs., occasionally 20-50lbs
- Work on computers for periods of time
- Regular driving of company vehicles
- Regular local travel among company locations
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree
- Basic knowledge of chemical dependency and psychological disorders
- Experience dealing with patients or clients in a hospital or mental healthcare facility
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Experience in a chemical dependency setting
