Job Summary
Motivate residents with severe mental illnesses by modeling positive behaviors, planning recreational programs, and facilitating life skills activities to promote wellness. Provide one-on-one assistance with activities of daily living, dispense medications per protocol, and deliver legal skills training to support competency restoration. Monitor resident behavior, proactively de-escalate challenging incidents using trauma-informed care, and partner with security staff on incident response, searches, and headcounts. Conduct new resident intakes and departing releases while maintaining accurate documentation and communicating with stakeholders. Circulate actively throughout the facility to engage directly with residents and ensure a safe environment.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License with a favorable driving record
- Availability for any shift and any day of the week
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including navigating stairs and uneven surfaces
- Sufficient strength and dexterity to conduct searches and operate security and monitoring equipment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead
- Adequate vision and hearing to monitor residents, detect potential security risks, and respond to alarms or emergencies
- Capability to perform First Aid, CPR, and AED procedures in emergency situations
- Manual dexterity to effectively operate various technologies, including automated resident tracking systems and communication devices
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Human Services, Behavioral Science, or other closely related field
- QMHA
- Prior experience in residential living, mental health, behavioral health, social services, or other closely related fields
