Job Summary
Oversee the Resident Care Department by scheduling staff, developing daily tasks, and prioritizing resident health activities including medication administration, record keeping, and chart organization. Directly supervise Caregivers and Med Techs while ensuring compliance with Title 22 regulations, conducting frequent audits of medication records, and managing inventory for medical supplies. Monitor team performance through continuous coaching, review incident reports for intervention needs, and act as the primary contact for physicians, families, and vendors. Maintain accurate documentation of resident health changes, vital signs, and care plans while ensuring all health equipment functions safely.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of supervisory/management experience
- preferably in an assisted living or similar setting
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in resident care or similar setting
- Minimum of 1 year experience passing medications
- At least 21 years of age
- Required Health Screening
- TB Clearance
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)
- Special skills needed to meet client needs [California Code of Regulations Sections: 85065(f)/87411(g)]
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently
- Ability to work additional hours which could include evenings and weekends
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Competency in managing documentation and maintaining accurate records in compliance with organizational policies
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports for performance evaluation and strategic decision-making
- Familiarity with financial management principles, including budgeting and resource allocation for wellness initiatives
- Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and innovations in senior wellness and care services
- Awareness of quality improvement methodologies and performance metrics relevant to health and wellness
- Understanding the unique needs, challenges, and preferences of elderly residents in an assisted living facility
- Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations and compliance requirements for assisted living facilities
- Knowledge of designing, implementing, and evaluating wellness programs tailored to the needs of elderly residents
- Awareness of health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of residents and staff
- Understanding emergency protocols and procedures to handle crisis situations effectively
- Knowledge of medication administration, storage, and adherence practices
- Ability to identify challenges and find practical solutions to enhance resident well-being and program effectiveness
- Ability in utilizing software and technology for program management, documentation, and communication
- Being flexible and adaptable in a dynamic healthcare environment to meet changing resident needs
- Ability to Conduct wellness assessments and individualized care plans for residents
- Working effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, therapists, and administrators
- Ability to handle conflicts and difficult situations with diplomacy and professionalism
- Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in elderly care and wellness programs
- AM and PM shift needed
Desired Qualifications
- LVN License optional
- Certified nursing assistant certification a plus
