Job Summary
Connect residents to social services, employment, healthcare, and housing resources through outreach, education, and advocacy. Host community events, lead workshops, and facilitate inclusive meetings to build engagement and foster wellness. Collaborate with property management to orient new residents, address lease concerns, and identify those needing additional support. Provide direct assistance with applications for income, transportation, childcare, and other supportive services while maintaining accurate documentation of interactions and outcomes. Split time 50% between Elizabeth Thomas Homes and Monica's Village Place, occasionally working evenings and weekends to serve diverse populations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year relevant service experience serving low-income individuals
- Ability to work independently without direct on-site supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Basic computer skills with ability to maintain client and program records, produce community resource and event flyers, and informational materials
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from diverse communities
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Possession of problem-solving abilities
- Well-organized, flexible, creative, able to conduct self in a professional manner
- Ability to work within the mission, goals, and objectives of Catholic Community Services
- Ability to travel across communities to respond to resident issues or emergency situations that may arise
- Able to hear telephone rings, phone conversation, doorbells, emergency alarms and normal face-to-face conversation
- Able to speak clearly in person and on the telephone
- Able to hand write legibly
- Able to read normal size print and handwritten notes
- Able to sit for sustained periods of time
- Mobility/dexterity of hands/arms to enable keying into an office or other locked areas as well as using computers and other office equipment
- Regularly able to perform duties as assigned
- Able to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment in performing job duties
- Must be able to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infection material
- Must be able to handle cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, dust, noise, and odors
- Must be able to handle interruptions, working alone, evening or weekend work, use of computers, and interactions with individuals who are angry and/or dealing with mental health or substance use disorders
- Must be able to work occasional weekend and evening hours
- WA State Driver's License
- Reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in assisting people in accessing community agencies and resources, linking with services and working with and understanding of culturally diverse groups
- Knowledge of a second language
- Knowledge of resources in communities in which properties are located
- Familiarity with Office 365 suite of services
