Job Summary
Assist residents manage Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), escort them to meals and recreational activities, and support their physical, emotional, and psycho-social well-being. Help ensure safety and comfort in the Wellness area while following all policies and adhering to Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness instructions. Provide hands-on care with patience and professionalism, adjusting to different personality types to maintain a respectful and dignified environment for our senior community.
Required Qualifications
- NY-Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide
- Must be able to speak and read in English
- Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines
- Basic understanding of dementia
- Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in touch and demeanor
- Maintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times
- Must be able to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
Desired Qualifications
- Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus
- Previous experience with geriatric population preferred, providing assistance with ADLs
