Job Summary
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and escort them to meals and recreational activities. Support physical, emotional, and psycho-social well-being while helping out in the Wellness area to ensure safety and comfort. Follow all policies and procedures, adhering to instructions from the Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness. Maintain a respectful, calm demeanor when redirecting residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. This part-time role includes a weekend shift (Sunday and Saturday, 3PM–11PM) for The Bristal Assisted Living, a premier senior care organization dedicated to hospitality with a higher purpose.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide
- Must be able to speak and read in English
- Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines
- Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in touch and demeanor
- Maintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus
- Previous experience with geriatric population preferred, providing assistance with ADLs
- Basic understanding of dementia; patience and professionalism in redirecting residents
- Ability to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
