Job Summary
Review schedule updates for construction logic and conflicts, evaluate contractor remedial proposals, and monitor site progress while coordinating with professional schedulers. Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications, lead evaluation of change requests and claims, and prepare change orders. Oversee contractor submittals, interpret contract documents for QA/QC, and manage project documentation and as-built records. Supervise field inspections, witness testing, and develop punch lists for completion. Serve as onsite liaison to owner and contractor, directing other inspectors and ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards. Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and extreme physical conditions on construction sites.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years field experience
- Associate's degree in a construction-related discipline
- craft apprenticeship
- Certifications for concrete, compaction and civil tests
- Inspection certification
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds
- See and hear naturally or with correction
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties
- Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure
- Repetitive movement
- May require work above 5 feet in height
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions
- Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions
- Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc
- Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
- Work around hazardous equipment
- This position is considered a safety sensitive position
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a construction-related discipline or craft apprenticeship preferred
- Certifications for concrete, compaction and civil tests preferred
- Inspection certification preferred
