Job Summary

Serve as the on-site representative during construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. Observe daily activities, document progress through reports and photographs, and review work for compliance with plans and specifications. Communicate field observations and challenges to the project team while assisting with quantity tracking and payment documentation. Participate in meetings, site visits, punch list development, and project closeout activities. Preferred location is BETA's Lincoln, RI office, with flexibility to work from other locations or remotely up to two days per week. Requires five years of practical construction experience with water infrastructure and a valid driver's license. Willingness to travel within New England and work in various weather conditions is essential.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of practical construction experience with water infrastructure
  • A clear ability to understand/interpret design and construction documents
  • Must be independent, highly motivated self-starters
  • Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Able to prepare and maintain field reporting documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willing to travel within New England

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA Certifications (ie: OSHA 10-Construction)
  • Associate/Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
