Job Summary
Provide direct and safe patient care for complex patients on the Medical Intermediate Care Unit, utilizing the nursing process to formulate individualized plans of care. Coordinate daily goals and document in unit records according to health system standards while conducting medication cross-checks to maintain safety. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, engage in didactic learning through the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program, and seek feedback from preceptors to improve clinical practice. Actively contribute to unit councils and Nursing Quality Teams to enhance patient experience and safety indicators.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program
- Hold a current unencumbered license to practice as an RN in Georgia
- Associate's Degree (ADN or Diploma)
- 0-1 year of RN experience
- Successful completion of new grad orientation
- Successful completion of an RN refresher course for acute care nurses
- Basic computer skills necessary to operate computer systems used on unit
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Vision of moderate, frequently 31-65%
- Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, stand, and walk frequently
- Ability to push and pull frequently
- Ability to work at frequently 31-65% intensity
- Ability to read, write, reason, talk, and keyboard
Desired Qualifications
- Previous specialty experience
- National certification in clinical specialty as eligible
- BSN
