Job Summary
Full-time Residential Monitor for Birmingham Command Women's Unit in Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities include accepting and processing residents, monitoring activity on the assigned shift to ensure safety, security and compliance with house rules, maintaining accurate records/logs, and ensuring the lodge/shelter is kept neat and orderly. Skills include effective communication with clients, ability to work with the public, independence with limited supervision, and enforcing policies. Must be able to read/write English, respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, and have the ability to sit/stand/walk for portions of the shift. A valid driver’s license is required. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; one year of experience in security or social service work preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
