Job Summary
Monitor and control entrance to a secure facility, verify resident employment, and ensure program and facility safety. Supervise and monitor resident movement, activity, and rule compliance while conducting pat-searches, inspections, shakedowns, counts, or breath tests. Perform scheduled and random urinalysis testing, document disciplinary action for rule violations, and store, monitor, and dispense resident medications following prescribed protocol. Operate and monitor video and GPS surveillance technologies, conduct facility safety checks, and respond to emergency situations within the facility. This part-time weekend night role supports justice-involved individuals in their transition back into community life at a Residential Reentry Center across Washington state.
Required Qualifications
- Male gender
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be able to pass and maintain security clearances as required by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP)
- Must obtain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler certifications within two weeks of hire and maintain throughout employment
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet browser navigation
- Valid Driver's License
- Associate's Degree in criminal justice, social services, or related field
- 6 months of experience working in the human services, criminal justice, and/or correctional system(s) including internships and/or volunteer placements
- Must be available to perform the essential functions of this job whenever scheduled to work
- Occasional overtime availability
- Attendance at and participation in shift/staff meetings and work groups
- Ability to promote and model teamwork and collaboration with coworkers
- Ability to work in partnership with Community Corrections Officers and/or Case Managers
- Ability to respond to emergency situations within the facility and call first responders as needed
- Ability to make emergency notifications to facility Director and Assistant Director when necessary
- Ability to communicate with residents, staff, and partners in a professional manner
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug testing (pre-employment and during employment)
