Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatment while managing inpatients and ensuring timely follow-up and discharge planning. Provide emergency care and initial stabilization for critically ill patients, and participate in ward rounds, case reviews, and consultations. Ensure clear and accurate medical documentation and handovers while adhering to infection control, hospital protocols, and ethical guidelines. Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) and quality improvement activities. This Resident Medical Officer role supports Valley Hospital's Clinical Services Department in Nakuru City, delivering continuous, high-quality care to patients across inpatient and outpatient services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a facility of similar size
- Registration and valid practising license with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
- Proficiency in general medical practice, diagnosis, and treatment
- Ability to manage emergencies and coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Excellent clinical documentation and communication skills
- Strong decision-making, analytical thinking, and teamwork abilities
- Ethical, compassionate, and patient-centred approach to care
