Resident Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Identify operational improvement opportunities and eliminate customer pain points while on-site. Perform field service tasks, troubleshoot technical issues, and conduct analysis through remote or on-site activities for certified service categories. Prepare material lists to ensure parts and equipment are available and of appropriate quality. Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers as needed. Execute commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on measurement and analytical equipment including continuous gas analyzers and gas chromatographs. Requires a Bachelor's or Technical Degree with 2+ years of experience, strong technical background in startup and preventive maintenance, and ability to build customer relationships with minimal supervision. 10% travel required; valid passport and driver's license mandatory. Onsite in Port Arthur, TX with home location options in Beaumont, Orange, Port Arthur, and Lake Charles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Technical Degree
- Associate's Degree/High School Diploma with 5+ years of relative experience
- 2+ Years of experience (if holding Bachelor's or Technical Degree)
- Strong technical background with technical skills in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive, and unplanned maintenance of analytical products
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
- Customer service oriented
- Strong Computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10%
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license
- Work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with continuous gas analyzers and gas chromatographs (PGC5000, PGC1000)
