Job Summary
Manage on-site field inspection teams and enforce contract plans for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects while overseeing safety, traffic control, and daily contract administration. Direct construction staff on daily duties, monitor field performance, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and environmental standards. Review construction quantities, monitor payrolls, and maintain logs for inspection reports, RFIs, and submittals. Process monthly payment estimates, evaluate claims, and manage the change order process. Act as the primary liaison between the agency, design teams, contractors, and the public. Requires NICET Level IV certification or 10+ years in heavy highway construction management.
Required Qualifications
- NICET Level IV certification
- 10+ years of experience in heavy highway construction management
- Familiarity with NJDOT or NJTA design standards
- Familiarity with Construction Management systems (like Site Manager or Cap Ex)
- Familiarity with internal Contract Compliance procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to convey complex technical information to clients and team members effectively
