Job Summary
Resident Engineer/Inspector (REI) with an active NY PE license to serve as the owner's on-site representative on large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects. Role combines engineering oversight, construction management, and project leadership with daily on-site supervision; ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and contract documents; coordinate with contractors, agencies, and stakeholders to deliver projects. Requires Primavera P6 for scheduling, budgeting, change orders, and reporting; mentor junior staff; lead inspections and quality control; manage safety and environmental compliance; act as liaison between owner and project teams to align with objectives. Fully on-site, long-term per-project assignments on bridges, tunnels, heavy foundations, and utility relocations, with potential NJ license desirability and CCM/PMP/CWI certifications preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York
- New Jersey PE license is desirable
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in resident engineering, construction inspection, and project management for heavy civil projects
- Experience with bridges, tunnels, heavy foundations, utility relocations, and large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and standards
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, project scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and forecasting
- Experience managing change orders, contract administration, and construction negotiations
- Professional certifications such as CCM, PMP, or CWI strongly preferred
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work fully on-site, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a proactive approach to project delivery
