Resident Engineer / PE

Job Summary
Supervise and inspect highway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with contract and State/Federal standards. Review engineering project records, field notes, and computations to prepare daily reports and documentation for payment verification. Calculate land areas using geometric and trigonometric computations, review construction plans against specifications, and prepare completed work estimates. Approve daily subordinate reports, recommend project changes, and attend staff meetings to participate in problem-solving. Manage survey, material laboratory testing, and field quality acceptance work while applying MUTCD knowledge for temporary traffic control. Requires Arizona PE in Civil Engineering, valid driver's license, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. On-site assignments across municipal, state, county, and federal projects throughout Arizona.
Required Qualifications
- AZ PE in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- eligibility for reciprocity in the State of Arizona
- valid Arizona driver's license
- meet auto insurability requirements
- pass a pre-employment drug screening
- subject to post-accident testing during employment
- 5-10 years of related construction experience
- ACI Certification (Field)
- Arizona Technical Testing Institute (ATTI) Field Certification
- ability to complete certification within first 3 months of employment
- ATSSA Temporary Traffic Control Supervisor or Erosion Control Certification
