Job Summary
Resident Engineer role (Remote/Teleworker) at Hewlett Packard Enterprise requires delivering reactive and proactive on-site post-sales network engineering for Juniper/Mist-based environments. Responsibilities include conducting network information workshops, validating designs in lab and live networks, testing patches and features, troubleshooting equipment and network problems, managing RMAs, producing status reports, leading technology workshops, and training customer staff to configure Juniper/Mist products. Requires deep experience with Mist design/deployment, Mist API/Web UI, Juniper Campus Fabric with Mist, EVPN/VXLAN, BGP (eBGP/iBGP) and OSPF, JUNOS CLI, and automation skills (Ansible, YAML, PyEZ, Python). Strong customer interface and presentation abilities, plus ability to operate across large enterprise/datacenter networks and drive best-practice solutions. Certifications: JNCIS-MistAI/Wireless, JNCIP-MistAI preferred. Role emphasizes remote work with international collaboration and ongoing knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Mist design and deployment of routing and switching within customer infrastructure
- Mist Wireless assurance experience
- Working knowledge of Mist API/Web UI
- Experience in Juniper Campus Fabric Designs using Mist
- Apstra experience
- Minimum 5 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks
- JUNOS CLI experience
- Experience with QFX, EX, PTX switching and routing
- EVPN/VXLAN experience
- Core routing with BGP (eBGP and iBGP) and OSPF
- Automation with Ansible, YAML, Juniper PyEZ
- Python scripting
- Strong communication with stakeholders including CIO/CISO
- Ability to translate complex requirements into solutions
- Experience with JTAC case handling and customer liaison
- Development and maintenance of network operational support procedures
- Knowledge of Mist API/Web UI basics
- Experience with YAML and JSON templates and PyEZ
- Knowledge transfer related to Juniper products
- Troubleshooting network issues
- Provisioning configurations validation
