Job Summary
Resident Engineer/Inspector (REI) with an active NY PE license to serve as the owner’s on-site representative for large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects. Role combines engineering oversight, construction management, and project leadership; responsibilities include daily field inspections, ensuring conformance with drawings and codes, coordinating with contractors and agencies, managing budgets and schedules, preparing progress reports, and mentoring junior staff. Requires on-site leadership, proficiency with Primavera P6, and a track record in bridges, tunnels, heavy foundations, and utility relocations. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management capabilities are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in resident engineering, construction inspection, and project management for heavy civil projects
- Demonstrated experience with bridges, tunnels, heavy foundations, utility relocations, and large-scale infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, project scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and forecasting
- Experience managing change orders, contract administration, and construction negotiations
- Professional certifications such as CCM, PMP, or CWI strongly preferred
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work fully on-site, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a proactive approach to project delivery
