Job Summary
Resident Chef at Sur La Table leads high-performing culinary teams, conducts engaging cooking classes, and oversees the in-store culinary program to drive sales and exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring staff, coaching performance, maintaining product knowledge, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, managing class schedules (6-8 classes weekly), coordinating private events, and leveraging KPIs to meet sales and guest engagement goals. Must be able to coach and develop teams, deliver consistent class experiences, and operate within retail and culinary operations while adhering to wage-hour laws and SOPs. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, plus proficiency with retail systems and Microsoft Office, are expected; culinary degree preferred with equivalent experience considered in exceptional cases.
