Job Summary
Oversee medication programs by ensuring accuracy of medication assistance records and providing hands-on assistance while monitoring med passes. Perform treatments per physician orders, including taking blood pressure, pulse, and blood sugar, and chart relevant resident information. Update physicians on condition changes, transcribe new orders, and assist with activities of daily living. Respond promptly to call lights, order medications from pharmacies, and provide shift reports. Assist the Resident Care Director with supervisory duties, team training, and scheduling. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications, make independent decisions, and adhere to all Century Park standards and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from accredited program
- Active LPN license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation, certification must remain current during employment
- Current First Aid certification (if required by State)
- Expert knowledge in field of practice
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in an assisted living community
- Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department
- Proficiency in all applicable competency areas
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understanding of and ability to follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Parks' Code of Ethics and completing all required compliance training
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year experience in senior services preferred
