Job Summary
Resident Care Assistant (RCA) for Long Term Care facilities in Windsor, ON, employed as an Independent Contractor. Responsibilities include observing residents to maintain a safe, caring environment; monitoring safety during violent outbursts; providing 1:1 compassionate supervision for residents with behavioural concerns; engaging residents in cognitive and recreational activities; maintaining close proximity during supervision; completing required documentation (DOS, BAR) hourly; communicating observations to the health care team to facilitate care planning; assisting with activities of daily living under supervision; professional presentation with a clearly legible name tag; performing high-touch cleaning and other duties as assigned; demonstrating commitment to compassionate care within RhynoCare’s values; requires Grade 11+ and English fluency; PSW certificate considered an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 11 or equivalent
- Fluent in English (speaking and documenting)
- Demonstrated experience delivering patient-focused care
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
- Successful completion of (or current enrollment in) accredited Personal Support Worker certificate considered an asset
