Job Summary
Assist residents with daily living activities including meal preparation, grooming, toileting, and personal care under direct nurse supervision. Transport residents in wheelchairs, apply personal protective equipment, and respond immediately to resident requests. Maintain facility standards for dining service and resident care, documenting duties before breaks or shifts. Notify supervisors of changes in resident conditions and adhere to safety rules and confidentiality protocols. Participate in staff meetings and in-services while generating ideas to improve care quality. Perform all duties according to established policies, service excellence standards, and the individual plan of care for each resident.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen (18) years of age
- Certification by an approved basic training program in home health aide services approved by the Department of Health
- Written evidence of such certification
- Current annual skills testing approval
- Ability to assist residents with all aspects of Daily Living Activities including bathing, toileting, and transferring
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
- Ability to perform occasional 2 person lift up to 120 pounds
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
