Job Summary
Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides quality care to residents of the community, assists with activities of daily living, performs housekeeping duties, responds to calls and emergency alerts, maintains confidentiality, assists with move-in transition, plans and conducts activity programs, and supports the nursing team under supervisor guidance. Must communicate effectively, remain calm during emergencies, and be able to lift and transfer residents as needed. Harmony Senior Services emphasizes a professional, courteous demeanor and flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- successfully completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable
- ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- be organized and able to work with all levels of personnel
- be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
- polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers
- ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- ability to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
- safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to become certified within 60 days of hire
- able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
- attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
- willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
