Job Summary
Resident Assistant at Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home in Carman, MB. Under supervision of the Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse, provides care to residents in a small home environment, assisting with activities of daily living, nutrition, participation in activities, laundry, and housekeeping. Focuses on promoting dignity and quality of life, with responsibilities including prioritizing workload, maintaining confidentiality, and communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff. Requires Grade 12, Health Care Aide Certificate, and a Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain); expects 1–2 years’ healthcare experience preferred; bilingual positions may apply; valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel; in-person role with nights and weekends required; 0.65 FTE; 7.75 daily hours; 2015 annual base hours; start date mutually agreed; salary range $23.87–$28.14 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education
- Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program
- Certified Food Handler Certificate or willing to obtain
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with vehicle and insurance (minimum $1,000,000)
- Ability to travel to other regional facilities may be required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
