Resident Assistant

Job Summary
Prep and pass prescribed medications to residents as physician ordered, recognizing side effects and reporting to the nurse. Perform delegated patient care activities including personal hygiene, mobility, activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and body fluid collection. Collaborate with the care team to ensure quality, cost-effective, safe patient care practices while reinforcing patient education. Respectfully address patient concerns, identify ways to improve the patient experience and streamline care processes, and escalate patient risks to prevent crises. Document all patient cares and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and providers. Work autonomously under the supervision of the LPN, RN, or nurse leader and the Lead Resident Assistant.
Required Qualifications
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
- Position requires compliance with department specific competencies
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred but not required
- Completes all 4 CBRF Resident Assistant certification classes: Fire Safety, first aid and Choking, Standard Precautions and Medication Management within 90 days of hire
